This year the Worship Council are made up of members from Year 1 to Year 4.
The Worship Council plays a vital role in the development of worship within our school.
The aims are:
Even if a child is not a Worship Council representative they play an important part in demonstrating daily the Christian values that we are proud of. All children are encouraged to spot others carrying out the school values that show our Christian character and ethos.
Spiritual Ambassador Day 2024
The worship team visited Denstone church alongside our family schools to explore the concept of prayer. We had such a fantastic day working with our Christian Distinctiveness Advisor who gave us some wonderful and exciting ideas to share with the rest of our school community. We thought carefully about the reasons why we pray and those who we pray for; me, others, please, sorry and thank you.
We explored different ways to pray, we loved the ‘confetti prayer’. We took a pinch of confetti and placed it collectively in a spot, thinking about who we wanted to pray for and why.
The most popular prayer was the ‘love heart’ prayer. Putting a love heart on our tongues, we waited for it to dissolve. This allowed us time for prayer and reflection where we thought about who we loved, who we found hard to love and people who don’t know that they are loved.
Mrs Bennett supported us to make us some prayer boxes to use in school. We have loved using them in our collective worship.
