Proposed Admission Arrangements for 2024-25
Admissions Policy
Joining Nursery
Children can apply to the school office to join Nursery from the term after their third birthday.
Starting in Nursery and becoming used to the routine, even for a few days a week, we have found to be beneficial for a lot of the children when starting in Reception. We don’t have a staggered intake or start with shorter days for the new Reception and we have found with the flexible wrap around care, and 30 hours which we now provide it has made for a very happy, easy transition into school life for the little ones.
Nursery Education Funding hours are available (15 hours) as well as 30 hour term time places. Additional sessions outside funding will be charged at £6 per hour or £2 per twenty minutes and should be booked by contacting Ms Robey in the school office. Sessions will be booked through Parent Pay.
Please click here for our Nursery Admissions Policy, Application Form, to check your eligibility for 30 hours funding, & Booking Form.
Joining Reception
Children can apply to join Reception the September after they turn five. If your child was born between 1 September 2015 and 31 August 2016, he or she will be starting Reception in our Academy from September 2020. Applications for admission to Reception class are managed by Staffordshire County Council. To apply for a place in Reception at St Augustine’s please apply online via the following link:

We offer a ‘move up day’ in July, where children already in Nursery at St Augustine’s move up to Reception, and children at other nursery settings can have a taster day at our academy. We also operate an open doors policy whereby with an appointment from the school office a tour of the school can be given at a convenient time.
Anyone wanting to join St Augustine’s at any other time throughout the year will require an in year admission form from their current school, but will be warmly welcomed.
