At St. Augustine’s, we teach a broad and rich curriculum of which Design and Technology is an important part. Design and Technology is an inspiring, creative and practical subject. Using imagination and creativity, pupils design, make and evaluate products that solve real and relevant problems within a variety of contexts of our curriculum. They acquire a broad range of subject knowledge and draw on disciplines such as mathematics, science, engineering, computing and art. The children also use their knowledge from other areas of the curriculum to shape the scope of their designs. Pupils learn how to take risks safely, becoming resourceful, innovative, enterprising and capable citizens. We are driven to inspire our children to become creative problem solvers enabling them to learn key transferable skills. We ensure that children leave us with an appreciation and enjoyment of Design and Technology.
