Summer term has as usual been a busy one. We have been reading the story ‘The Way Back Home’ to link with our 1960s history topic. We wrote newspaper articles about the 1969 moon landing, learnt about the Beatles and how toys and inventions have changed. Science has been all about plants. We planted sunflowers and then wrote instructions on how we did it and what they need to grow. In maths, the Year 1s have been exploring fractions and multiplication and division, and Year 2s fractions and measurement. We have been reading ‘Fantastic Mr Fox’ as our class text, acting out important parts, participating in hot seating, looking at alliteration and vocabulary, predicting and reviewing the story. Our D&T project has been designing, creating and evaluating a pop-up card. We created birthday cards to use throughout the year for our class birthdays.
