At St. Augustine’s, we pride ourselves on being an inclusive and welcoming school. Applications for admission can be made at any point during your child’s school journey, and we are always happy to arrange a tour or meeting to discuss any queries you may have. As a First School and Nursery, we admit children between the ages of three and nine years, who are taught across three classes by our experienced and dedicated team of teachers.

Children can apply to the school office to join Nursery from their third birthday. 15 and 30 hour funded places are available, with additional hours charged at £6 per hour.
We find that attending our Nursery is beneficial for a lot of the children when starting in Reception, easing the transition and providing a happy, smooth start to their school journey. The Nursery children share a classroom and their own dedicated outdoor space with the Reception children, and are taught by our specialist EYFS lead teacher.

Children can apply to join Reception the September after they turn five. Applications for admission to Reception class are managed by Staffordshire County Council. The application window is open from 1st November – 15th January each year, and applications can be made online via the following link:

Once children have received their school place offer we arrange a Move Up Day, when children already in nursery at St Augustine’s move up to Reception, and children at other nursery settings can have a taster day at our academy. We also operate an open doors policy whereby, with an appointment from the school office, a tour of the school and additional taster sessions can be arranged at a convenient time.

SUAT supports and leads in the set-up of new academies joining the partnership. The services provided by the central support function cover both educational and non-educational support. In terms of educational support, SUAT is linked to the School of Education of Staffordshire University, which is an outstanding ITT provider.
