As a school, we believe support from home plays a vital part in ensuring that your child is a happy and confident mathematician. Playing games, singing nursery rhymes and even baking can help your child to practise lifelong skills in a special way.
Throughout every academic year, we have various opportunities for parents and carers to come into school and see what the children and their friends have been learning recently in maths. There will be games and activities available for children to showcase their knowledge but please feel free to bring any maths games in from home that the children enjoy.

Maths morning – Thursday 26th October
A huge thank you to everyone who made it out for our first maths morning of the school year. The children always enjoy having the opportunity to show off their mathematical prowess. The activities, as always, were linked to the children’s prior and current learning. They got the opportunity to share their knowledge and skills with friends in other year groups and were given the opportunity to teach others about their learning.
Maths morning – Friday 2nd February
NSPCC Number Day was a huge success thanks to the involvement from parents and carers this year. To also help with our understanding of helping the cause, we spent the morning participating in activities linked to our recent learning and revision of aspects within our current units. These activities were created by the NSPCC themselves and were aimed at the different ages. Below is a list of examples for each of our classes. We had a lovely morning practising our maths learning with our grown-ups and we enjoyed using a range of objects to help us apply these skills. It was fun to show our parents and carers how we use different equipment to help us with our learning and it was like we were the teachers! We raised nearly £60 for NSPCC, so an enormous thank you to everyone who donated.
More details on NSPCC Number Day can be found on the maths events page.
